The Day has Arrived. Go Build.
April 24th, 2008It’s finally here. The students and local volunteers have been planning, brainstorming and building like mad in anticipation of our 60th anniversary celebration, ARCHISTRUCTERIOR. By tomorrow night, the archistructures will have been built and dismantled. Hopes of winning the competition will have been fulfilled and dashed. The rush of planning and expectations will have passes as well and we will begin to look forward to the next challenge ahead. We wish all the teams the best of luck and very very low winds! Whatever happens, make sure to have fun. We are celebrating for 60 years worth of graduates and alumni. The faculty have every confidence in our students’ ability to create and build. We cannot wait to see what you have created for yourselves, CCSF and the city of San Francisco!
The gods of Architecture have showered the perfect weather on us!

Battery charging station will be provided.
April 23rd, 2008A single outlet will be provided to each team for re-charging battery powered tools. When you arrive at the plaza, we will inform you of where the re-charging outlet will be. Each team will only be able to charge ONE battery at a time. Do not expect to be Able to charge multiple batteries at a time.
WE RECOMMEND MAKING SURE ALL YOUR BATTERIES ARE CHARGED OVERNIGHT BEFORE ARRIVING AND THAT YOU BRING AT LEAST ONE EXTRA CHARGED BATTERY IF AVAILABLE.
This plug will be a remote location near the power outlet for the plaza. While we will try to keep and eye on things, we cannot guarantee the safety of your batteries being charged. Each team must take responsibility for their battery and chargers and keep an eye on them.
First weather reports are in: moderate wind possible
April 20th, 2008From weather.com, the FRIDAY, April 25th forecast (as of Sunday morning) calls for good weather with 13mph winds. This level winds means on land that dust, leaves, and loose paper are lifted and small tree branches move and white caps will appear on water according to the Beaufort Wind Scale. Keep in mind that there are many micro-climates in SF and this is a general wind speed. Local conditions can improve or deteriorate that forecast. That’s not too bad for the constructions but let’s hope for even less wind than that. In the meantime, please plan accordingly for your Archistructure!
